We backed St Nicholas Abbey on Thursday evening for 2 points E/W at 7/1. After receiving very good reports on the horse’s well-being and confirmation that he would run on lasik.
Last year we also had the winner of this race with Dangerous Midge at 8/1. We used the same stats that work so well in this event. The information that we had on the horse was pointing to only one winner. The main piece of information for the race was the running on lasik, this stops a horse feeling pain and prevents bleeding.
Lasik is banned in most countries and will be in America from next year but we found out St Nicholas Abbey has bled twice this year, only small amounts, but enough to stop him in the final parts of the race.
Before the race started our confidence was growing when we found out the horse was bouncing in a afternoon canter. Shortly before the start Sea Moon, Midday & Sarafina were all playing up in the preliminaries but our selection was very calm. It felt like one of those races where we had won before the start.
St Nicholas Abbey was in 5th position for the majority of the race. The horse was travelling very kindly despite being a little short of room. When going round the bend for the first time we had a bit of a scraping from the hedge. The sharp bends were never going to be a problem though; the horse had won at Chester unlike the other competition in the race.
Approaching the final bend, still in 5th, Joseph moved the horse off the rail positioning for a clear run and kicked on hitting the straight. St Nicholas Abbey immediately responded coming fast down the outside and powering away for the most impressive win of the night. We had loads left in the locker and won very easily, gaining ground over Sea Moon. The race could not have worked out any better, it’s just a shame we now have to wait another year for this race again.
It was surprising reading the Racing Post comments in Saturday’s paper who said the horse would be outpaced on the short finish for home. They could not have got this more wrong if they tried. It makes you wonder what horse they have been watching all season. The short run for home was never going to do anything but plays to St Nic‘s strength. He has one kick of gear but only maintains that and gallops to the line. He was the only horse in the race that could change his legs on the bend and quicken whilst turning. The trip was always going to be too short for Sea Moon whilst Sarafina takes ages to hit top gear and we already had beat Midday before.

November has been a fantastic month for BetterTipster members with 22 points profit made to level stakes. Just £10 on each selection would have made a nice £220 profit.
The first seven bets of the month all won, everything we touched turned to gold. We were not just backing in the UK either; members were treated to some fantastic Breeders Cup information with two big antepost bets landed on Uncle Mo at 2/1 and, the highlight, Dangerous Midge at a great price of 8/1. That Saturday night will be remembered for a long time.
The form continued with the likes of Hes Our Lad @ 9/4, Marino Prince @ 13/8, Manyriverstocross @ 8/1 E/W. If that’s not enough, we have had even more since including our most recent winner been Jago River.
The BetterTipster notebook has also been in good form with winners throughout the month. Don’t be worried about the cold snap, our main information sources will be continuing their interrogations at All Weather tracks on a daily basis ensuring the information keeps coming in (even if all the jumps racing is off for a spell).
December has just arrived and we foresee some quite action on the horizon (weather permitting). Each year we try to pay for clients Christmas expenditure and this year we will be working harder than ever to ensure we do it once again and repeat Novembers great returns.
Breeding Profitable!

The jumps season has finally started to find its stride and some familiar names are making their season debuts.
It’s been a while since the last update, so what have we been up too?
In total we have placed ten bets, resulting in a fantastic 37 points profit to level stakes. Assuming you bet a modest £10 on each selection, a profit of £370 would be showing. Without giving the game away, members who backed to our recommendation stakes have shown larger profits.
It’s been a fantastic month that came to a climax at the weekend with the Breeders Cup. Earlier this month we’ve already landed some nice bets, including Presenting Forever winning first time out for us and more recently Tchico Polos at 7/2. Our notebook runners have also thrown up a few winners. However Saturday was the biggest pay day for BetterTipster. We had two runners going in the evening Breeders Cup meeting and we also backed Simenon E/W earlier in the day who ran a nice race finishing 3rd at 12/1.
We placed just two bets in the Breeders Cup meeting, both were antepost selections. Firstly we backed Uncle Mo, telling clients he was a solid bet. The message was quite simple about this runner; the horse is very special and would not lose. Uncle Mo was the winner as soon as the stalls opened, cantering to victory in 2nd gear. Uncle Mo could be the best horse we’ve seen in recent times; a brilliant horse that can run six furlongs like a sprinter whilst still having a good finish and the ability to stay a mile.
Our second antepost bet was on Dangerous Midge who really brought home the pennies, or should I say notes, when winning at 8/1. We were informed how well the horse had been working at Churchill Downs and that we should expect a real improvement. Dangerous Midge was specially kept fresh for this race, unlike other runners, whilst connections were very confident of not just running a good race but winning the big pot. Under a great ride by Frankie Dettori, Dangerous Midge did the business and we collected a fantastic bet at great odds.
All our bets are proofed to Clive Keeling of What Really Wins. Please see some of the member’s comments we received shortly after the big weekend:
“As always, thank you – you really are second to none. “
“ Many thanks for a great night, now I can go and book the skiing holiday, and buy the I Phone. The info you supply is certainly A 1, just hope they keep coming in over the winter months, it really is appreciated what you and your team have done for me.”
“I reckon you deserve a day off. High excitement last night. Well done and many thanks. As always with what was a new service to me six months ago I haven’t been going mad but my £2000 bank has now topped £4500. I’m sure many of your clients have made much more but I am gradually increasing my stakes and £68ew on Dangerous Midge was very rewarding.”

What a fantastic night of racing at the Breeders Cup! There were amazing scenes with Zenyatta and I don’t think we will witness anything like that again. The crowd stunned into silence, bringing some to tears and leaving others lost for words. I was cheering louder than ever before on the back straight, despite not having a bet in the race. Needless to say that my cheering caused a stir with the neighbours. It is a shame that the victory escaped her as I truly believe that Zenyatta deserved it.
As for us, a superb night with both antepost bets being landed. We started the day with Simenon who ran a great race by landing the E/W money and finishing 3rd at 12/1. We lost out on second place in the finish, something I feel may have been down to the fast start. We started the day with a place paying 4/1.
The Breeders Cup started for us with Uncle Mo. I really do think that Uncle Mo could be the best horse to come around in a long while. No other horse in the field was ever a danger as Uncle Mo humiliated some of the best horses in the world. My question is how a horse can run as fast as a top class six furlong sprinter but then produce a finishing kick over a mile in distance. It should not be possible; he was not even tested!
The horse never came out of second gear. If you can find any bookie offering 3/1 for the Kentucky Derby along with ‘no runner no bet’ then please tell me what foolish bookmaker offered you the bet! Uncle Mo is the hardest horse in the world to bear and landed us a nice 4pt win bet landed at 2/1.
After a good start came Dangerous Midge, who made the evening when landing the other antepost bet at 8/1 (2pts E/W). I was worried at the start of the race as I thought they were going a bit too quickly. Frankie Dettori was in 2nd for the majority of the race and looked in trouble on the turn for home as he had to ask the horse for a lot. Soon however, as they hit the straight, Dangerous Midge moved up a gear and made up 4 to 5 lengths and, with the full works from Frankie, won cosily in the end going away. Frankie said after the race the horse was just being lazy on the bend. A fantastic win for the Meehan stable and a long term targeted gamble landed.
This topped of a wonderful night and a great week with around

A review of today’s racing in which we placed two account bets. The first bet was on an antepost selection; Dangerous Midge at 8/1. The horse is now 5/1 in places, mainly due to the breaking news about Workforce being a possible none-runner as a result of the ground, as we have highlighted before. Let’s hope the rain keeps away as I think we have a great chance of collecting with this bet.
The second bet was on Tchico Polos 2pts E/W at 7/2 who did the business for us under a fantastic ride by Ruby Walsh.
Thankfully Ruby soon realised the pace of the field was far too quick. Our selection usually makes all but, after being up with the pace from the off; Ruby settled Tchico Polos in and let the rest of the field get on with it. At four out we looked in trouble as Tchico Polos was being ridden hard and we were flat to the boards just keeping up. We thought that fitness would be the key and it proved so as Tchico Polos just kept on going as others felt the effect of the quick early pace. Jumping two out we drew level and it looked like the race was in the bag as long as jumped the last. Twist Magic however had other ideas but thankfully the line came in time.
