Today was extremely frustrating. We had the race won, were cruising into the lead at two out then jumped the last whilst 4 lengths in front. Presenting Forever traded at 1.04 on Betfair and then, as if my magic, Presenting Forever just got lonely and started drifting to the right, losing ground idling in the process.
It cost us the race and allowed Midnight Chase to do take our lead which despite spurring Presenting Forever on ultimately he ran on again once saw the other horse.
Everything was going perfectly in the race so we are gutted. I hope some of you may have greened up on Betfair for a big profit, but even if you didn’t we still achieved a 5/1 winner (on the place). It’s also nice to have got the win at 20/1; that would have paid for our Christmas.

Two account bets today and unfortunately our super run came to an end. It had to at some point and today was the day. Both bets were to small stakes though so not to much damage done but always annoying not to get a return.
We were really unlucky with Wake Up Call as the horse got really worked up in the paddock and shipped the jockey on the way to the start. We know that Wake Up Call has to be held up, but unfortunately the horse winged the off and the jockey found himself in front. In all honesty he tried to get cover in the pack but the pace of the race was terrible and nothing would go past.
The race ended up being a sprint from the furlong pole which is never good news for Wake Up Call as the horse flies off a strong gallop, like last time we backed him. Still the horse finished 3rd which is good considering that it wasn’t a strong run, one to keep with but remember he needs a strong gallop.
Not sure what to make of Alan King’s runners at the moment. Today Roko Dancer was really fancied. We know the stables’ horses need the run first time out but this horse has already been put out once and finished 2nd. The horse was traveling well and traded short in-running on Betfair as well.
I have heard since the horse went from emptied it’s gas tank in a matter of strides. Going on what we were told about the horse at the stable visit this is not the horses’ true running. If you look at the stable’s runners you have the likes of Midnight Call being turned over at very short odds. Let’s also not forget Voy Por Ustedes running badly, and nothing really getting in the winners enclosure.

I’ve been at Cheltenham for the last two days. I’ve got soaked, had a chapped bum, wet feet, spent a fortune on food (and a few beers) and haven’t had a bet on any race at Cheltenham over the two days. However, today I find myself walking away with just under £1,000 from the lovely tote people at The Cheltenham race course! People were wondering why I was shouting so much watching the Irish racing. Little did they know the last leg of a huge payout was jumping the last on the bit at Punchestown.
Firstly before the magic of Saturday. Just one bet during the week with the selection jumping the last upsides but the beast made a terrible error losing all chance (despite trading very short in running) and ended up finishing 2nd in the end but should have been another winner for members.
Now Saturday, the call came very early with the voice at the end of the phone being very bullish over a horse running at Uttoxeter. This does not happen very often but today it did.
The horse was given out as a seven point win bet with the word “Strong” in the text. Clients know when the phone bleeps with message they lump on. Result? There was never a moment’s worry, a brilliant round of jumping and an easy victory for Sullumo (Despite the screens dieing at Cheltenham!). Weekend paid for!
But, that was not the end of the day. Two other horses were also given with a patent bet and treble recommended. Obviously it all started well with Sullomo winning and the other two? WON by 6 lengths and 5 lengths. Treble and Patent bet paid up. A really fantastic day’s business with our wallets very full. Around 30 points profit on the day.
So you maybe wondering why I was at Cheltenham yet didn’t bet? Simple. If you don’t fancy anything the why bet? It’s no fun losing money. With the ground and weather conditions bad this would throw lots of the form and info out of the window. So I decided to keep my wallet in my pocket and just enjoy the betting ring and see the big bets go on.
Looking forward to Sunday, we may be betting at Cheltenham as we have a notebook horse running. Remember so far we have had 4 winners from 6 runners, roughly a 70% strike rate. One was brought down when cantering and the other one we were told not to back due to ground. N.B. One of the horses given today was a notebook winner. We also have a notebook horse running in Eire on Sunday so that makes two.

The Breeder’s cup preview was sent out to clients with just two selections at the meeting. Both duly won at good odds and it turned out to be a great night of arm chair viewing and even better when you have two winners, that pays for the takeaway. As I say, it was a great night of racing and if you were following our advice you would have hopefully have been in a similar green to us.
