I’ll keep it short & sweet; we backed Bop It for 2pts win at 11/4. The horse was backed heavily into 2/1 fav at the off. The horse won very well indeed and there were no worries at all. We informed members that Bop It is far above this class after being informed directly from connections who we spoke with today.
That will do for July not turned out that bad has it?

We were terribly unfortunate not to be placed today with our account bet on Beyond Desire. Instead of bringing home a 3.5pts place profit we ended up with a 2pts loss. The horse was well backed before the off into 9/1 from the 14/1 advised price that we achieved.
Beyond Desire was fast away as joint leader and going really well all the way until just before the two pole when Breathless Kiss gave us a bump and we lost 2-3 lengths and all momentum at a crucial stage. Jockey Neal Callan went straight to work riding Beyond Desire as hard as he could; the horse responded well and made up the ground but used up vital energy doing so. We fought our way back into 3rd place looked like we would claim the place but got caught in the last stride and finished 4th, beaten around 2 and a bit lengths in total.
Beyond Desire would have been placed at worst if not for the bump and fair E/W money won, really frustrating as the info from Roger was spot on as normal.
Bad luck for us today as I really thought we found some solid value here in what is proving to be a bloody hard meeting. Couple of days left now with the aim of getting it back.

Quick review of our account bet. We backed Present Your Case 3pts win at 6/4. We’re pleased to say the horse won as it liked by 5 lengths hard held; jockey Richard Johnson never moved a muscle. Good stuff from the Vaughan stable lets hope for plenty more in the coming weeks.

Firstly we backed Burano who finished 4th, beaten couple of lengths. Burano was a little slow away but soon made up the ground and travelled well in the centre of the track. At two out jockey Shane Kelly looked a bit unbalanced as Burano changed his legs a few times whilst on the dip. Two runners on the far side got away and soon had the race between them whilst Burano failed to quicken until he met the rising ground close to home.
I’ve spoken with connections who say the horse did not handle going down the hill at the two pole but quickened up again once he hit the rising ground. This took me a little by surprise as Burano ran over the same course and distance last time out. Connections did point out that he came up the rail where the ground does not give way much. Either way Burano did not run as we had expected. The horse will run on a flat track next time out so it maybe worth giving him another chance as he was finishing better than anything once on the rising ground.
Dominant was tanking along and looked the winner of the race until the two pole with Neil Callen just pulling him out for a clear run. Nothing in the race could have gone better; we were just waiting for the surge of pace like last time.
We had a very quick 30 second chat with connections who say that Dominant‘s tongue came over his bit around the two pole. Neil said he asked the horse to quicken but could not believe the lack of responce because he was travelling so well. He also said the horse was making a choking noise. I have not watched the replay yet but apparently Dominant‘s tongue can be seen flapping out of his mouth from the two pole. If this is correct we have been really unlucky as the horse would have been unable to breath properly in the final part of the race.

We placed our first bet for a week on Stormy Whatever 2pts E/W at 7/2. We’re pleased to say the horse won very easily by 5 lengths and returned an 11/4 SP; good gamble was landed.
The race was ran quickly away from the stalls under jockey Frederik Tylicki as trainer James Given expected. The majority of runners were well behind after two furlongs and we didn’t look in any danger of not winning at any point. It would be nice if all bets were as easy as this one.
