Well, the run had to end at some point and unfortunately it did yesterday when Flambeau was beaten by just a length. Flambeau ran a good race; the jockey was not too hard on the horse once the winner drew upside. After another run I will be very confident that the two horses that finished in front will not beat Flambeau again.

It was bound to happen, with the just info horse Captain Dunne winning at 5/1. We’ve backed this horse the last two times after being told it was ready to win, but on each occasion the horse missed out for different reasons. Yesterday it broke level and was never headed. I am glad that a members backed it, but it’s still frustrating when these things happen.

Back later with today’s info.

The Winged Assasin, our first account bet, has been pulled out.

One other bet did go, Monterey. This turned into a gambler and the horse went off at 8/1 when we got 16/1. The horse was running at the back the whole race race and was never given a chance by the jockey. You can’t be that far back when turning for home at Ascot. When the jockey did ask, the horse quickened and ran green again pulling out to his left like the horse’s previous run.

I cannot say the horse would have won, but if it was closer up in the main pack at least it would have been given half a chance.

Another fantastic day for us with Belle Noverre winning easily at 9/2, advised at 9/1 when the email went out.

A big gamble went down before the off on Belle Noverre. As soon as the money arrived I knew we were on a good thing. Not a penny was seen for the horse until the off at which point it was smashed in to by the Irish owners who made the trip to Hamilton; a proper old school gamble landed. Belle Noverre won with any amount in hand and the jockey never got serious at any point.

I am really pleased we spotted this one last week. It just shows that if you follow your own eyes and spend a few hours studying, it pays off. The horse could have won at Naas last week, but obviously owners had today in mind.

It appears that something is wrong with the O’Brien runners. The Rip Van Winkle run was terrible with the horse leading early doors, but faded very quickly.

We said that at this Ascot meeting we shall be backing value bets. The first was today with Dayia who ran a cracker, finishing 4th, to land the E/W money. That’s where the unlucky bit starts. Instead of paying 4/1 for the place, the horse got caught in a dead heat meaning a pay-out of only 2/1. Dayia got checked at a crucial moment that cost us both a 2nd place and the 4/1 payout. The horse lost a couple of lengths when making it’s run. We knew Dayia would gallop all the way and stay on and only missed out on 2nd place by a nose and on 3rd place by a whisker. At least the thinking was correct and the info correct.

Our final bet, Maggie Aron, does not need much reviewing as we know the information coming from the Tim Vaughan stable is exceptional; we’ve had 6 winners from 7 runners from our new contact. This information is costing a fortune, but is well worth it.

Overall a good day and let’s hope it continues. Hopefully we may get another double priced winner in the bag, and more importantly a 4th winning week on the bounce.

A Perfect day with our account bet winning at 10/1. We also had USA+1 @ 13/8, winning and even better was the bet on Clint Dempsey – 8/1 to score at anytime.

Concerning the horses, Victoire De Lyphar won in great style with a bit left at the finish. I said last week on the blog that over the last three weeks we’ve had many big runs but kept getting placed E/W at double figure odds, and so it was only matter of time before we got one in. This gives us fair bit of ammo for Ascot and more importantly a 3rd winning week on the bounce.
