I am very glad to see the back of this week, it’s been a nightmare. This is one of those rarities that comes as part and parcel of gambling and is something we have only experienced a few times since the service began.

Basford Lady was in trouble as soon as they set off. The horse was hanging badly to the right and as a result the jockey had to pull hard on the left reign in order to keep her straight. Something was clearly hurting the horse and she was soon pulled up. We don’t usually have any injuries, so a second injury of the week was a big surprise.

Royal Charm also did not get the 2 mile & 5 trip. It appears that the trainer got it wrong. The horse came hard on the bride at 3 out but for just reasons just ran out of gas. I can’t tell you how highly Nicholls rates this horse, and despite having a great day with his other horses, it appears as if he got the distance wrong this time.

Yesterday we had one bet on Praxiteles. Everything was looking good approaching two out, at which point the horse was tanking along and trading at heavy odds on (Betfair). As the horse took off it struck into itself (Two out), that was the reason why the horse then pulled heavily onto the left and as a results lost many lengths.

AP went for everything, but the horse came back with a large cut on his front leg. This is the reason why the animal stopped quickly.

Unfortunately this is very bad luck as the horse was a solid gamble by connections. It has been a tough one this week with both a jockey error and an injury. At the moment this looks like it could be the first losing week for months. I suppose these things have to happen but it is a shame considering how things could have gone.

Today we had two bets, one on Mille Chief and the other on Prince of Fire (also advised as a double). I must say I was particularly unimpressed with the ride from Mr David Casy, who seemed to just canter round on Prince of fire. He appeared full of running at two out where he went to the front with a double handful at the last. Instead of asking the horse to go clear two or even three out, he sits there messing about trying to hold back. Why don’t jockeys just try and win! This is just a joke. Just win the race and be done with i!.

The horse went to the last fence with no momentum. The horse was put under and pressure when jumping into it. The horse jumped ok, and then the jockey asked the horse to sprint, in heavy ground, after going nothing more than a canter.

However, Ruby was sat behind asking for everything well before the last which as a result meant he finished much faster.

Mille Chief won easily, but that unfortunately we lost the double due to what in my opinion is a poor ride.

We advised another bet today (Sunday); our notebook horse Premier Sagas winning nicely for us at 10/11.

This is the first time we have backed this horse despite being told to follow it at the start of the season. The horse has taken quite a while to come to hand and it was interesting to hear the trainer’s comments after the race saying that mentally he is still a big baby. The horse travelled beautifully during the race despite not jumping to his best. Approaching the last the horse was a couple of lengths down, but he soon made up the ground and won cosily going away to land the spoils.

This topped off a great week for BetterTipster with four of our five bets winning.

On Saturday we had our first account bets of the week. We certainly made up for a quiet week with four selections text to clients. However, we did land a 70/1 treble on Thursday with the three just info horses all winning at odds up to 7/1.

With so many selections in one day it’s always a bit of a worry as you really don’t want the lot to get turned over and this is something we try with all our efforts to prevent. So, how did members do? Well, we collected with three out of the four runners to make it a great weekend.

The day got off to a good start with Peddlers Cross winning by around 15 lengths on the bit. Saturday’s performance was very impressive with the horse jumping well and handling the heavy ground. The horse should be even better on a decent surface.

The second horse to run was a huge Irish gamble. We received a call earlier in the week about this one and were told very good things. This was a confident selection but the race was very hard with 30 runners and because of this we could not go big on the stakes. C’est Ca ran a great race to finish 3rd, beaten only a length. The jockey had to dodge and weave around many horses to gain a clear run so was a little unlucky. But the 10/1 3rd E/W was a profit made and very close to a large payout.

Then we had the only loser of the day where our selection was looking like the winner turning for home but stopped suddenly as if something was went wrong.

It did not take long though until we collected again with Vino Griego, landing a big gamble for us at 13/8. The horse was backed all day long into and sp of 4/6. There was never a moment’s worry as this quality horse hacked up.

So four bets yesterday and we collected with three of them. I’ll surely take that any day of the week.
